Paulina Akbay (*1997 in Istanbul) is a multidisciplinary artist, filmmaker, researcher and curator currently based in Cologne, Germany. They obtained an interdisciplinary media degree (BA) from the University of Cologne (UzK) back in 2020. Since the same year, they have been studying the Media Arts programme (diploma) at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne (KHM), and they also studied for one semester at the University of Applied Arts (die Angewandte) in Vienna. They are engaging with a wide range of topics and materials. Media covered by Akbay include photography, film, clay, drawing, painting, writing and more. Always open to exploring new things, they and their neurodivergence do not settle for only one medium or topic at a time, continuously searching for their next special interest.
